Help parents make informed choices and make children happy with toys that are truly worth it.

In a world full of thousands of toy options, it's increasingly difficult for parents to make the right choice. Marketing promises wonders, prices vary enormously, and not every toy delivers what it promises. That's where we come in.

At Happy Toys, we believe children deserve toys that are safe, durable, and truly fun. Toys that don't end up in a corner after a week, but that challenge, inspire, and help children grow. That's why we thoroughly test every product before recommending it.

Our Story

Happy Toys started in 2023 from a simple frustration: as parents, we spent hours researching toys online, only to be disappointed time and again by reviews that were too positive, lacking product information, or toys that didn't deliver what they promised.

We decided there had to be a better way. What if there was a place where parents could find honest, in-depth reviews based on real tests with real children? A place without hidden agendas, where the interests of parents and children come first?

Today, Happy Toys has grown into a trusted source for tens of thousands of Dutch and Belgian parents looking for the best toys for their children. We're proud of what we've achieved, but we know our work is never done - every day new products come out that need to be tested.

Our Review Methodology

Transparency is a core value at Happy Toys. Below we explain exactly how we evaluate toys, so you know you can trust our recommendations.

Step 1: Selection

Not every toy qualifies for a review. We select products based on popularity, novelty, educational value, and reader requests. We review toys of all price ranges, from budget-friendly to premium.

Step 2: Real Kids Testing

This is where Happy Toys is different. Each product is tested for at least two weeks by children of the target age in their home environment. We observe:

• Initial reaction and curiosity
• Play duration and repeated use
• Creativity and variation in play
• Frustration or problem moments
• Interest over time (does it stay engaging?)

Step 3: Expert Evaluation

In addition to child testing, our experts (educators, parents with years of experience) evaluate each product on:

• Safety: CE marking, small parts, sharp edges, material safety
• Educational value: What skills are stimulated?
• Durability: Build quality, wear resistance, repairability
• Longevity: Does it grow with the child? Does it stay challenging?
• Value for money: Is the price justified?

Step 4: Parent Feedback

We collect feedback from parents about practical matters: assembly, storage space, maintenance, battery consumption, and long-term experiences.

Step 5: Publication & Updates

Our reviews are not static documents. We update them when new information becomes available, prices change significantly, or products are improved or discontinued.

Our Independence

Trust is the foundation of everything we do. That's why we're completely transparent about how we make money and how this affects our reviews (spoiler: it doesn't).

Happy Toys earns money through affiliate links. When you buy a product through our links at partners like Bol.com or Amazon.nl, we receive a small commission. This costs you nothing extra.

Does This Affect Our Reviews?

Absolutely not. Our reviews are written before we consider which affiliate links to add. We only recommend products that have passed our rigorous tests - whether or not an affiliate link is available.

We receive no payment from manufacturers for reviews. We don't accept "sponsored reviews" or paid product placements. Our judgment is not for sale.
